SAPPORO SECRET SHOPPER PROMOTION TERMS AND CONDITIONS
- Information on how to enter and the prize form part of these Terms and Conditions. Participation in this promotion is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
- Entry is only open to Australian residents aged 18 years or over who are employees of a Participating Venue (defined below).
- Employees (and their immediate families) of the Promoter and agencies associated with this promotion are ineligible to enter. Immediate family means any of the following: spouse, ex- spouse, de-facto spouse, child or step-child (whether natural or by adoption), parent, step- parent, grandparent, step-grandparent, uncle, aunt, niece, nephew, brother, sister, step- brother, step-sister or cousin.
- Entries into the promotion open on 01/07/25 and close at 11:59pm AEDT on 01/12/25 (Promotional Period).
- A participating venueis any selected venue located in Australia (excluding NT) that sells Sapporo beer on tap, and uses Sapporo’s two-part-pour method during the Promotional Period (“Participating Venue”). The secret shopper will visit the following number of Participating Venues in the locations listed below. These Participating Venues will be aware of the promotion prior to the start date of the promotion.

- To be eligible to enter, individuals must, during the Promotional Period, pour a Sapporo beer in accordance with the Secret Shopper Criteria, as set out below.These Participating Venues will be aware of the promotion prior to the start date of the promotion.
Secret Shopper Criteria:
- The Sapporo beer must be served in a chilled glass (for Participating Venues where glassware is not stored in the fridge, the secret shopper will not penalise the employee if the glassware used is not refrigerated);
- The Sapporo beer must be served in a clean glass (if a Participating Venue carries Sapporo tankards, the Sapporo beer must be served in a tankard. If a Participating Venue does not carry branded glassware, the employee will not be penalised); and
- The Sapporo beer must be creamy. For clarity, the individual must use the two-part-pour method (for example, a silky head should fill to the plimsoll line). Cleanskin Participating Venues should aim to present a balanced looking glass with a generous, silky head. Individuals may watch the video at https://sapporobeer.com.au/secret-shopper/ for reference.
- For the avoidance of doubt, the secret shopper will visit each Participating Venue at random throughout the Promotional Period, and a Participating Venue will not have prior notice
- Once the individual has satisfied the Secret Shopper Criteria (as detailed in clause 6 above), the secret shopper will provide the individual with an official entry form. In the event that an official entry form is not provided to an individual at the time they have been notified that they have satisfied the Secret Shopper Criteria, it is the individual’s responsibility to request such materials.
- To enter and receive one (1) entry into the draw, individuals must then, during the Promotional Period, complete the official entry form provided by the secret shopper, input the requested details (including but not limited to their first name, last name, valid email address, phone number, State/Territory of residence and the name of the venue where they are employed) and provide the fully completed entry form back to the secret shopper.
- Only one (1) entry permitted per person.
- The Promoter reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of entries and entrants (including an entrant’s identity, age and State/Territory of residence) and reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who the Promoter has reason to believe has breached any of these Terms and Conditions, tampered with the entry process or engaged in any unlawful or other improper misconduct calculated to jeopardise fair and proper conduct of the promotion. Errors and omissions may be accepted at the Promoter’s discretion. Failure by the Promoter to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights. The Promoter’s legal rights to recover damages or other compensation from such an offender are reserved.
- Incomplete or indecipherable entries will be deemed invalid.
- If there is a dispute as to the identity of an entrant, the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to determine the identity of the entrant.
- The draw will take place at Unit 2/11 Sabre Drive, Port Melbourne, VIC, 3207 on 03/12/25 at 10:00am AEDT, in the presence of an independent scrutineer. The Promoter may draw additional reserve entries and record them in order in case an invalid entry or ineligible entrant is drawn. The winner will be notified by email and telephone within seven (7) days of the draw, and their details will be published (first initial, surname and postcode) online at https://sapporobeer.com.au/ on 08/12/25.
- 1The Promoter’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
- The first valid entry drawn will win one (1) trip to Tokyo, Japan, for four (4) adults (consisting of the winner, one (1) companion of the winner’s choice, the owner/manager of the Participating Venue where the winner is employed, and one (1) companion of the owner/manager’s choice), valued at up to $25,300 (depending on date and point of departure). For clarity, all four (4) adults must take the prize together.
The prize includes:
- Four (4) x return economy airfare from the winner’s nearest Australian capital city to Tokyo, Japan;
- Return private transfers from the airport to accommodation in Tokyo, Japan, for four (4) adults;
- Five (5) x nights accommodation in a minimum 4-star accommodation in Tokyo, Japan for four (4) people, with breakfast included (consists of two (2) twin rooms, or similar);
- AU$1,000 spending money per person (AU$4,000 in total), awarded in the form of an electronic funds transfer (“EFT”) to the winner’s nominated Australian bank account. Winner is responsible for providing full and accurate bank details. The Promoter will not be responsible for incorrect details being provided, a banking institution rejecting an EFT payment, or any costs associated with locating any lost monies;
- A trophy presentation at the Sapporo Breweries Headquarters;
- Visits to the Yebisu Brewery Tokyo, SAPPORO The Bar, and Ginza Lion Beer Hall with a Sapporo representative (food and drinks are included, however, the quantity of food and drinks will be at the discretion of the Promoter); and
- One (1) x golden Sapporo trophy to display at the Participating Venue where the winner is employed.
- The prize must be taken between 01/03/26 – 31/07/26, and the prize cannot be taken during weekends and on Japanese public holidays. All travel is subject to availability at all times and may be dependent on select seat class with airlines or specific room category availability with an accommodation partner. All bookings and documentation regarding the prize must be made via Free-2-Travel Holidays Pty Ltd or their agents. Redeeming the prize is conditional on acceptance of the terms and conditions of travel as detailed by Free-2-Travel Holidays Pty Ltd and the airline carriers in accordance with normal travel practices. No portion of the prize is redeemable for cash. Winner and all travel companions must be in possession of a valid passport with a minimum of 6 months validity on it prior to departure. Winner is responsible for any amendments fees issued by airlines or suppliers once booking is confirmed and ticketed. Winner is responsible for any additional taxes and/or resort fees associated with the chosen accommodation, unless otherwise stated. Visas, valid passports, vaccinations, additional spending money, additional meals, additional transfers (other than those included), taxes (excluding airline and airport taxes) and any other ancillary costs, including but not limited to items of a personal nature, in-room charges, insurance and any applicable insurance excesses, not listed in the prize description above are the responsibility of the winner and his/her traveling companions as incurred. It is the winner’s responsibility to organise transport to/from the airport departure/return point. Winner and travel companions must have valid travel insurance for their period of travel. The winner and all travel companions must depart from and return to the same departure point and travel together. The winner may be required to provide their credit card at the time of accommodation check in. Itinerary to be determined by the Promoter and Free2Travel in their absolute dscretion. Frequent Flyer points do not form part of the prize. Prize is subject to the standard terms and conditions of individual prize and service providers. For clarity, all travel companions must be aged 18 years or over.
- The Promoter and event organisers hereby expressly reserve the right to eject the prize winner (and/or their companion/s) (either from the bar or dining experiences, or any other component of the prize) for any inappropriate behaviour, including but not limited to intoxication, whilst participating in any element of the prize.
- The Promoter encourages consumers to enjoy responsibly. Legal aged consumers are advised to consider the safe drinking levels recommended in the National Health & Medical Research Council Australian Alcohol Guidelines that are available at www.nhmrc.gov.au . Entry and continued participation in this promotion is subject to the licensee’s liquor serving policy.
- The Promoter will not offer this promotion as an inducement directed at encouraging patrons to gamble in line with relevant state gambling authorities.
- Subject to the unclaimed prize draw clause, if for any reason the winner does not take/ redeem the prize (or an element of the prize) by the time stipulated by the Promoter, then the prize (or that element of the prize) will be forfeited.
- If the prize (or part of the prize) is unavailable, the Promoter, in its discretion, reserves the right to substitute the prize (or that part of the prize) with a prize to the equal value and/or specification, subject to any written directions from a regulatory authority.
- Prize, or any unused portion of the prize, is not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be taken as cash, unless otherwise specified.
- Total prize pool value is up to $25,300.
- A draw for any unclaimed prizes may take place on 06/01/26 at the same time and place as the original draw, subject to any directions from a regulatory authority. The winner, if any, will be notified by telephone and email within seven (7) days of the draw, and their details will be published (first initial, surname and postcode) online at https://sapporobeer.com.au/ on 08/01/26.
- In the event of war, terrorism, state of emergency, government lockdown, pandemic or any other kind of disaster or unforeseeable event beyond the Promoter’s reasonable control, the Promoter reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the promotion or suspend, substitute or modify a prize, subject to any written directions from a relevant regulatory authority.
- Entrants consent to the Promoter using their name, likeness, image and/or voice in the event they are a winner (including photograph, film and/or recording of the same) in any media for an unlimited period without remuneration for the purpose of promoting this promotion (including any outcome), and promoting any products manufactured, distributed and/or supplied by the Promoter.
- If this promotion is interfered with in any way or is not capable of being conducted as reasonably anticipated due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter, including but not limited to technical difficulties, unauthorised intervention or fraud, the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to the fullest extent permitted by law: (a) to disqualify any entrant; or (b) subject to any written directions from a regulatory authority, to modify, suspend, terminate or cancel the promotion, as appropriate.
- Any cost associated with accessing the promotional website is the entrant’s responsibility and is dependent on the Internet service provider used.
- Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits, excludes or modifies or purports to limit, exclude or modify the statutory consumer guarantees as provided under the Competition and Consumer Act, as well as any other implied warranties under the ASIC Act or similar consumer protection laws in the States and Territories of Australia (“ Non-Excludable Guarantees ”). Except for any liability that cannot by law be excluded, including the Non-Excludable Guarantees, the Promoter (including its respective officers, employees and agents) excludes all liability (including negligence), for any personal injury; or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the promotion.
- Except for any liability that cannot by law be excluded, including the Non-Excludable Guarantees, the Promoter (including its respective officers, employees and agents) is not responsible for and excludes all liability (including negligence), for any personal injury; or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of: (a) any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under the Promoter’s control); (b) any theft, unauthorised access or third party interference; (c) any entry or prize claim that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected (whether or not after their receipt by the Promoter) due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter; (d) any variation in prize value to that stated in these Terms and Conditions; (e) any tax liability incurred by a winner or entrant; or (f) taking/use of a prize.
- The Promoter collects personal information ( “PI” ) in order to conduct the promotion and may, for this purpose, disclose such PI to third parties, including but not limited to agents, contractors, service providers, prize suppliers and, as required, to Australian regulatory authorities. Entry is conditional on providing this PI. The Promoter will also use and handle PI as set out in its Privacy Policy, which can be viewed at https://coopers.com.au/privacy . In addition to any use that may be outlined in the Promoter’s Privacy Policy, the Promoter may, for an indefinite period, unless otherwise advised, use the PI for promotional, marketing, publicity, research and profiling purposes, including sending electronic messages or telephoning the entrant. The Privacy Policy also contains information about how entrants may opt out, access, update or correct their PI, how entrants may complain about a breach of the Australian Privacy Principles or any other applicable law and how those complaints will be dealt with. All entries become the property of the Promoter. Unless otherwise indicated by the Promoter, the Promoter may disclose PI outside of Australia, see the Privacy Policy for details.

- Every employee at a Participating Venue who satisfies the Sapporo Shopper Criteria when pouring a Sapporo beer (as outlined in clause 6 within the “ Sapporo Secret Shopper Promotion ” Terms and Conditions ) during the Promotional Period will also receive a gift, if eligible, in accordance with these Terms and Conditions . This Sapporo Secret Shopper Guaranteed Offer is provided by the Promoter and is not to be used in conjunction with any other offer.
- Clauses 1-8, 11-13, 15, 19-20, 25-33 of the “ Sapporo Secret Shopper Promotion ” Terms and Conditions, as detailed above, equally apply to this Sapporo Secret Shopper Guaranteed Offer and should be read in conjunction with these Terms and Conditions. All references to: ‘prize/s’ shall be read as ‘gift/s’; and ‘winner’ to ‘successful claimant’. If there are any inconsistencies, these Terms and Conditions shall prevail.
- To claim the offer, claimants must, during the Promotional Period, fill out the official claim form provided to them by the secret shopper, input the requested details (including but not limited to their first name, last name, valid email address, phone number, State/Territory of residence and the name of the venue where they are employed) and provide the fully completed claim form back to the secret shopper.
- Every claimant who successfully pours a Sapporo beer in accordance with the Sapporo Shopper Criteria and submits a valid claim form will be awarded a gift in the form of a $100 EFTPOS physical voucher.
- Successful claimants will receive the $100 EFTPOS physical voucher instantly from the secret shopper.
- Maximum of one (1) claim per person.
- All claims and supporting material must be received by the Promoter before 11:59pm AEDT on 01/12/25. An individual will not be entitled to any Digital Visa Gift Card in respect of any claims received after that time.
- Any ancillary costs associated with redeeming an EFTPOS voucher are not included. Any unused balance of an EFTPOS voucher will not be awarded as cash. Redemption of an EFTPOS voucher is subject to any terms and conditions of the issuer, including those specified on the EFTPOS voucher.
